Mags

My subscription to O, the Oprah Magazine is almost up and I need to replace it with something else. Not People or US or Star - I buy those whenever something interesting is on the cover. Any suggestions?

Cosmo, Glamour or Jane? I know I'm a grown up and these are really too 'young' for me, but I can't help it. I lurve them. Good Housekeeping? Better Homes & Gardens? Entertainment Weekly?

Doesn't Martha Stewart have a mag? Prison life's gotta be good for a few issues.

Well, allow me to suggest the Nation, Mother Jones, or American Prospect. While the people in them are not generally as pretty, and you won't find a lot of recipes, it will re-awaken the part of you that doesn't *really* want to be a Republican anymore. (didja catch this, BTW, oh you who voted for Governor Arnold for "economic" reasons: http://www.dailynews.com/Stories/0,1413,200%257E20954%257E2658972,00.html ?)

If those don't tickle your fancy, Shannon really likes "Lucky," the monthly magazine that tells you what shiny and/or bedazzled items you should buy this month. She also gets Premiere, InStyle, and Newsweek and US News. (I'm not actually much of a magazine guy -- I read them mostly online.)

Seriously, though, she really loves Lucky.

Politics? Bah! I might give Lucky a shot. I will buy an issue this weekend, along with the issue of Star that is full of pictures of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. If he slept with that skank, he is so off the list.

Also, I would have voted for McClintock for economic reasons. I voted for Schwarzenegger because I thought Bustamante was a moron.
