Why am I sitting in an office in a building where everything else is closed, including all the parking entrances but one, on a holiday? This is anti-American! Bastards!
I just freaked out in the elevator on the way back from the dentist. Since the dentist is in the next building over, I took the elevator there down the parking garage so that I wouldn't have to cross over in the rain. When I got into the elevator for out building, the button for our floor wouldn't light up. I needed my key card. I said, "Are you fucking kidding me?" It wasn't. Then I got really confused because I knew it was well after 8 am so I couldn't figure out why I needed my card, which I usually leave in the car. Only I didn't have my car keys with me since I was just going next door. I also didn't have my phone so I had no idea how the hell I was going to get back up to our floor. Then I remembered that I had my card key in my purse, which I took with me to the dentist in case I needed to pay, which I didn't. Anyway, the food court is closed, too, so now we have to venture out into the rain at lunch time. Damn un-American company not giving us Presidents' Day off.
Actually your post saved me spending half my day trying to get errands done that I won't be able to do, because of the holiday. I had completely forgotten about it. So now I can stay out of the rain and get some school work done (online education...whoooeeee). Thanks for the post...
